A visit of delegates from China to VIVA Institute of Applied Art for educational purpose: On Wednesday 22nd Nov’17 at 9.30 am VIVA Institute of Applied Art had a delegates (a team of 7 educationists) from China to promote ‘China-India cross culture Education in Art & Design’ The purpose of the visit was to undertake projects / discussion activities, in order to expand cross- cultural Art Design, Education, Academic exchanges, promote Chinese & foreign Art Disciplines of University- Inter school cooperation etc. They also mentioned that the seminar will prove to be a platform with new learnings and great opportunities coming on the way to India as well as China. The two sides shared views on cross culture between China and India, ancient allies and now evolving as modern competitors also revived their old cultural and religious ties. The delegates also showed interested in establishing cooperation with appropriate partners and they are seeking opportunities for spending this sum. Exchange of thoughts… With the continuous development of economy, the economic cooperation worldwide is becoming more and more frequent than before. Among the factors attributing to the conflicts, cross-culture is one major element, which has become increasingly important. Chinese Art has been varied throughout its ancient history, divided into period by the ruling Dynasties of China & changing technology. India and China are two eastern giants, both with more than five thousand year-old civilizations and rich cultural heritage. Nevertheless, historical interaction between the two had remained restricted, largely due to the geographic separation of them caused by the mighty Himalayas; few exceptions had of course been there, viz. travels of some scholars like Fa Xian and Xuan Zang to India from China and of Buddhist monks, particularly Bodhisatvas, from India to China happening over a period of more than two thousand years. Important to note is that during such limited exchanges, cultural differences did not stand in the way of interaction between two peoples, as motives of each side, say spiritual search and knowledge-seeking, were stronger. An active phase in India-China social contacts had to wait till the ushering in of modern era. And now is opportunity to promote ‘China-India cross culture Art Design Education’ for the development of Applied Art which will open new avenues varied job options for students in Applied Art. Quotes.. “The Silk Route not only served as a major trade route between India and China, but is also credited for facilitating the spread of Buddhism from India to East Asia.”- India “Indian Art & Architecture represent Indian diversify culture. Mughal & South Indian Architecture can be the example.”- China “China is emerging as a big retail manufacturer so various phases, characteristics in design has become very important, thus Applied At is picking up as fastest growing Design Program in China”- China “This visit will prove to be the cross-culture in business negotiation between china and India from various aspects, especially in Applied Art to open a good situation and promote the successful proceeding of Art & Design education between China and India.”- India
